(Lesson One)

Did you know that the Bible is made up of two doctrines
or teachings? These two teachings run through both the
Old and New Testaments. They are called the LAW, and
the GOSPEL.

The "Law" is any scripture you find that demands you do
something to earn your salvation. The "Gospel" on the
other hand, is any scripture that that offers a promise
or some other gift without any strings attached.

The Law says, "Do this and you will live!"

The Gospel says, "God has already done it for you!"

WHAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LAW AND GOSPEL...IS NOT!!

*THE GOSPEL IS FROM GOD, AND THE LAW FROM MAN...Both are found in the Bible, so they both come from God.

*THE GOSPEL IS NECESSARY, BUT NOT THE LAW....Without the Law the Gospel is not correctly understood, without the Gospel the Law can't do anything for us.

*THE LAW IS THE TEACHING OF THE OLD TESTAMENT, AND THE GOSPEL THE TEACHING OF THE NEW...There are Gospel promises is the Old and New Testaments.

*THE LAW IS MEANT TO CONDEMN MAN AND THE GOSPEL TO SAVE HIM...Both the Law and the Gospel are meant to lead peple to salvation.
